In the current process industry, the main determining factors for material selection include mainly corrosion resistance, the ability to be fabricated, and the lifecycle cost especially under severe service conditions. Due to its balance of chromium, molybdenum, and copper, the Hastelloy C 2000 Plate is one of the most frequently mentioned materials in specifications for sulfuric acid and mixed acid environment handling. These plates are mostly made according to ASTM B575 in thicknesses usually starting at 2 mm and going up to 50 mm, solution-annealed for enhanced corrosion resistance.

Procurement departments in Riyadh and Dammam are now frequently reviewing these materials for heat exchangers, reactors, and pressure vessels which require operating in both oxidizing and reducing conditions. In refinery upgrades and chemical processing expansions, the trend of sourcing strategies has been towards more comparing nickel alloys with conventional stainless materials so as to get the best cost-performance ratios. The evaluation of the Hastelloy C 2000 Plate is made alongside the duplex and austenitic grades such as 316L and 904L, mainly when there is a concern for chloride stress corrosion cracking. Platforms like pipingmaterial (Saudi Arabia) may offer buyers in Al Khobar and Jeddah access to a list of verified suppliers providing certified mill test reports, plate sizes like 2000x6000 mm, and workmanship with ASME and NACE standards.

Industrial fabrication sectors that have adopted flat products for structural and process equipment due to moderate corrosion resistance, and the ability to be formed have relied on them since these products meet these functional requirements. Under these circumstances, 304H Stainless Steel Sheet has remained a favourite for many due to it being readily available in various finishes such as 2B, No4, and BA, besides that it is regularly used for fabrication of storage tanks and ducting systems in the Saudi Arabia markets.
