AI translation tools are everywhere now. They’re fast, easy, and often free. So many people start wondering - if AI can translate documents in seconds, why do authorities still ask for certified translation?

The real concern usually begins when official documents are involved.

Immigration offices, universities, courts, and legal departments don’t only look at readable English. They often pay attention to:

      Accuracy
      Consistency
      Official formatting
      Legal meaning
      Certification details
      Stamps and signatures

This is where people begin noticing the difference between AI-generated translation and human-reviewed certified translation.

A sentence may sound correct after AI translation while still changing the legal or academic meaning of the original document. Names, dates, and official terminology can also appear slightly different across documents without the applicant even noticing.

Another thing authorities often care about is accountability. AI tools can generate text, but they don’t officially certify accuracy or take responsibility for the translated document.

That’s why many applicants still rely on professional providers like Home Office Translations when submitting:

      Immigration documents
      Marriage certificates
      Birth certificates
      Academic records
      Legal paperwork

Because when official approval depends on trust, many people feel more confident using professionally reviewed certified translation instead of relying only on automated systems.

In reality, AI may help people understand documents quickly - but when authorities are reviewing paperwork officially, applicants usually start asking a different question:

“Will this translation actually be trusted?”
