A desert safari in Dubai is often associated with dune bashing, quad biking, and exciting rides across the sand. But there’s another way to explore the desert that focuses more on culture, wildlife, and traditional Emirati life.

A regular safari usually puts adventure activities at the centre of the experience. Depending on the package, you might enjoy a 4x4 ride over the dunes, sandboarding, camel riding, and an evening at a desert camp.

A Heritage Desert Safari Dubai experience takes a different approach. It may include exploring the desert in a vintage Land Rover, learning about falconry, discovering Bedouin traditions, and enjoying Arabic coffee and dates. Some experiences also introduce visitors to local stories, traditional food, and the desert’s natural environment.

Neither option has to be better than the other. It really depends on what you want from your trip. If you enjoy action and adventure, a regular safari may suit you. If you’re curious about the UAE’s culture and history, a heritage experience could be more appealing.

Which would you choose for your first desert trip in Dubai: an adventure-filled safari or a cultural journey into traditional desert life?
