I need to practice Java by doing a complete project. (Offline)

I need to know how to create a GUI for my project.

I checked for a Swing GUI tutorial on udemy.com but their best seller tutorial is last updated on 2015!!

Is Swing outdated? What do you guys use to build Java GUIs?

Can you please suggest me a good complete tutorial on Swing or any other Java GUI?
It's better if it contains a complete java project step by step.

And, what is Java FX? Is it an alternative for Java Swing?

Guys I have learned java upto some extent. I do know OOP concepts, data structures etc.
But obviously can't become a java developer with this knowledge.
So, what should I learn in java to become a java developer?
I'm asking for any topics that should I cover, like data structures, JDBC etc.
And please suggest me some methods to learn those things.
