The Income Tax Act section 80g gives the taxpayer an opportunity to deduct donations given to some charitable organizations. The level of deduction will differ with the organization and nature of the donation; it may be in the form of 100 or 50 percent of the amount donated with or without a qualified limit. In order to deduct this the donor will have to receive a receipt of the charity and the organization has to be registered under Section 80G. This supports charity and offers tax exemption.
