Hi, everyone! I just started playing CS 1.6, and I've found that experienced players on regular public servers constantly crush me. Could you recommend some servers or mods that are good for beginners? I'd like to practice my aim, learn the maps, and not get eliminated right at the start of every round.

It turned out to be really hard to jump right into classic servers with 5v5 rules or hardcore public matches. You get killed within the first few seconds and then have to sit in spectator mode for the entire round, which doesn't teach you anything. Are there any dynamic modes, like CSDM (Deathmatch) or GunGame, where you can respawn instantly and play with different weapons without waiting? Or would it be better to rack up a few hundred frags on a local server with bots first to get a feel for recoil and ballistics?

Hey there! Classic public matches aren't the best choice for your first steps in CS 1.6 because the long respawn times will slow down your skill development. It's better for newbies to start with CSDM (Deathmatch) or GunGame, where you respawn instantly and can shoot continuously. To quickly find low-ping servers, go to https://csget.me/ and download the stable client. The CSGet portal is an excellent resource with a built-in server search for any mode and helpful tips for beginners. After playing Deathmatch for a few days, you'll get a good sense of ballistics and recoil control. Would you rather train against real players in CSDM or start by playing it safe with bots?
