Know your NoSQL Asela Dassanayake

NoSQL is often used for storing Big Data. This is a new type of database which is becoming more and more prevalent in industries like Internet of Things(IoT), Social Media & E-Commerce platforms, Mobile Applications who are dealing with huge volumes of data that traditional relational databases would find it extremely challenging to deal with. Open source Database solutions such as Cassandra, MongoDB, and Redis are excelling in handling these Unstructured, Big Data.
Hence, as data enthusiasts, It is essential to have a sound, hands-on knowledge on how to deal with these data sources in order to mine for valuable insights.
In this meetup I will introduce you to MongoDB, an open-source NoSQL database engine built in C++ as well as to practice querying NoSQL databases in Mongodb to extract meaningful information from the data:
- Introduction to Mongodb
- Perform CRUD operations(CRUD operations create, read, update, and delete documents- data stored in a document in NoSQL is equivalent to data stored in a row in SQL Tabular, relational data)
- list itemIntroduce you to the aggregation pipeline in Mongodb
Colombo Data-Driven is a strong supporter of learning through practice and hence the session is packed with demos and exercises crafted to further solidify your understanding.
